Glad to hear that somebody reached out. Sorry to hear how this has gone down and all without a word. Weird to hear that a device was returned and marked as such. Upset to see that absolutely no communication has occurred.

As for the package: I suppose that either he changed address (and it's not common in here to let postal office know about that and redirect packages, so maybe he didn't do that) or it might get stuck in customs office - I had similar situation in the past with package from China (the package was kept in customs office for over a month without anyone notifying me and then returned to sender with a note similar to "recipient unknown/not found")... But I would rather say the former is more possible then the latter (however that's my personal oppinion).

Understood. It was like that when I lived in Germany. But the lack of communication still persists. Moving doesn't mean that access to the Internet stops for 4 months - that's based on the last login here at TMO.
That lack of communication made it all too easy for the naysayers to be correct and decrease trust in any potential projects that start from this community.
It is however ...understandable...that it is a closed project.
When one person is doing a given project that is so intensive from conception to end product...not only time is taken...(a great deal of time is needed when it is a small crew or one person...)
But compounding issues which ...being life changing ...can stall or stop a project dead in it's tracks.
Estel did good works here.
Did good on the project with what he had.
The stall and lack of movement on this project cannot be considered a blemish on his past work or record.
The project may be dead.
But it is hardly a failure.
I believe it to be rather a great success.
In the end he did manage to produce a proto
Although he wasn't / hasn't been able to produce in numbers to fulfill the orders placed (and I feel for those who pre-ordered ...)
Those who pre-ordered did ..in the end... fund an experiment worthwhile ...
One that proves the feasibility, possibility and success of small and one-man projects...
and frankly ...
considering the odds normally against a single individual succeeding in such a venture ..
proves that not only the perseverance and tenacity of maemoans to succeed goes beyond the norms...
But that this place is filled with a darn good pack of huge hearted B-tards.
