    I second peterleinchen's post. I do not have my N900 with me but I have just checked files in http://repository.maemo.org/ manually in a random Linux box and...

    Code:
    $ dpkg --info easy-deb-chroot_0.9.56-1fremantle1_armel.deb
    <snip>
     Depends: easy-chroot (>= 0.2.7), lzma, wget, wmctrl, zenity, murrinanightorange
    <snip>
    Note no specific version requirements on wmctrl.
    Nevertheless...

    Code:
    $ dpkg --info wmctrl_1.07-5_i386.deb
    <snip>
     Depends: libc6 (>= 2.5.0-1), libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.20.3-1maemo2+0m5), libice6 (>= 1.0.4-1), libsm6 (>= 1.0.3-1), libx11-6 (>= 1.1.99.5+0m5), libxmu6 (>= 1.0.4-1)
    <snip>
    It looks to me like you either
    a) downloaded the wrong installer (quite likely, considering you mentioned Openrepos); or
    b) are missing the Extras repository in your app manager. Go to http://repository.maemo.org/ and click on the relevant install links.

    So even without providing the proper information asked for we get a step further by having provided a random log from """app manager"""!
    Please notice my bold formatted parts.

    And I guess the problem comes from:
    [code]
    ~ $ cat /opt/fapman-cache/sources.list
    deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/apps/ ./
    deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/mr0/ ./
    #deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle1.2/ovi/ ./
    deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras/ fremantle-1.3 free non-free
    [code]

    O mah gawd...

    Peter...
    Please don't tell me you were using a Yoda voice ...
    When writing the first line of your post...
    It would kill me...

    And yeah...
    Too many question marks concerning the possible unknown variables.

    I figure if anyone needs help installing ...
    with one of the easiest methods there is... of installing an alternative os ...via chroot
    Then they need to go back to actual instructions...read them... reread them...rereread them...
    Then practice until they get it.

    Chrooting is profoundly easier than many other methods...

    I know you are new to the os ...el cid ...
    And you are a brave soul to jumping in the deep end of the pool ...takling some of the more advanced stuff...
    When you really need to start perhaps more in the middle of the pool...(and not the shallow end of the pool...considering you seem pretty sharp)

    But you definitely need to pour over the wiki and the forums various walkthroughs...and the various threads and posts people have painstakingly done to illuminate the best or easiest methods to do things, as much as read the various issues folks have had and how the issues were resolved...if they were resolved...

    And expect some trial and error along your Jedi training path with Master Yodaleinchen...

    The version of your wmctrl is different. Note 1.07-5 in Extras versus your 1.07-6.
    (OK, I checked the i386 build yesterday by mistake but the armel build is identical, as verified today.)

    The key to getting help is providing useful information, especially answers to specific questions people keep asking you again and again.

    So, one last time,
    where did you get yours from?

    So let us guess further, pichlo!

    I assume he downloaded the version for N9 (hint for CID: here are missing two ZEROs).
    Probably someone with an alive N9 can check hers/his version of wmctrl (just to verify)?

    Else I do not further how to help but configuring the sourceslist (overwriting deprecated nokia ones with the mirror repos). And using standard mechanism (not fapman).

    Off topic, but has anyone else also chuckled over "fapman"?

    That's probbaly not much of a problem in an english-speaking community with mostly non-native speakers.
    ...although I must admit, the thought that whoever came up with that name actually knew what it meant is quite hilarious.
