Second clue: Anyone heard "RX-48" mentioned in this forum?Doesn't it sound like a new hardware version? To distinguish it from current N810 it has to have new name. (But the name doesn't need to be much different...
)

Isn't that obvious? If the upcoming tablet can do WiMax, doesn't it need a new (radio) hardware? (If someone hacks current N8x0 software to make it compatible with WiMax networks... I'll buy you a case of beer.)

Any company that release two consumer products with ANY significant difference under the exact same name is run by idiots. Oops... I once worked for one...
EDIT: one qualifier-- cars (etc) don't count. I guarantee you that every time there's a model change, even if the nameplate stays the same, the top level assembly number changes. bUt for low cost consumer products that churn quickly, flame above still applies.
