It’s not an ordinary bowl. It’s a super bowl. It’s not an ordinary Sunday. It’s the super bowl Sunday so eat plenty of “bad” food and drink cheap beers made of 99.5 % water and 0,5 % something yellow...
Took the 20 min ferry to nanaimo..
Gabriola island has barely a dusting of snow..and it is fairly still and quiet.
2.5 km away at the nanaimo side of the ferry...
Mean winds...blowing swirling snow ...more than a dusting ...and roads that are slick and icy as glass...
Not fun.
Grocery stores are for groceries.
intoxicants don't go on the shelf beside cheerios.
We have government regulated and controlled stores specifically for alcohol ..and now specifically for pot.
All one has to do is look to the USA to see the social mess of having unregulated alcohol available for sale in any possible store ...at as low a price as they can sell it..
One can find tobacco products at most grocers though. But according to government regulation, it isn't plainly seen on the shelf, but in cupboards behind counters out of sight
Part of the reason for this segregation is so that those who are trying to quit addictions don't need to additionally struggle walking about shopping for necessities ...with the products displayed everywhere.
Cheap prices and availability are a great thing ...sometimes...for some things...
For other things it doesn't work out well.

Really? So you cannot buy Persil and Brillo pads in a supermarket either?

Very sensible. Similar arrangements exist in most other countries.
Ah...
Its a laundry detergent.
Yes...one can find laundry detergents at the grocers.
Both products mentioned ...cleaning products naturally are separate down a specified aisle ...away from foods.
The best prices for such things tends not to be at a grocery though...but say a big box store.
Walmart....costco...etc.
Grocers here do have such products...but tend to specialize in food more than other products.
