What's reassuring is that the amount of poultry going up and red meat going down. Not quickly enough mind you, but the trend is good.

If you are the one Dave999 is going to have with waffles, then probably not.
But as a species, chickens hugely benefited from human egg and meat production. There is no way there would be so many chickens if left just to the nature.
