Ah cool. I got it set up on my computer, but I'm going to wait for the final release of the 2006 OS before trying it on the 770.

If someone else wants to try the same thing, here is a helpful link:
    http://www.jabber.org/user/userguide/ , sections 3, 5, 12, 13. For section 12 I used prolly.org.

    (Unless INDt fix it)

    Andrew-

I could have sworn that I didn't install any of the multiplayer games (I think the only game I installed was maemodrac) but I could be wrong.

BTW, do you have the source code for your vim port available? I tried to check your site but it appears to be down.

    Brad.

I can confirm that, apart from all the bugs etc. that I already read here, I can connect to GTalk only using a phone and not through my WLAN access.

Already tried switching router firewall off, no results.

Now, I would like to know whether someone of you know which is the STUN server and its port, so that I could try setting manually (whatever it is...)

I flashed mine with the latest Windows flasher utility from Nokia - worked without any problems - so do you think this means I'm missing part fo the upgade? Maybe not every part of it got flashed (e.g. maybe there was a radio firmware update that I'm not benefiting from?)

Seems to work fine though (the odd crash as everyone else seems to be reporting, but overall doesn't seem to have suffered from being flashed in Windows..
EDIT: Oh wait - I just realised you were referring to flashing back to 2005 OS...

Has anyone else succeeded in flashing with the windows Util? I told a friend to do the same - also no problems...

Yes, I posted all that in a Mac section I added to the HOWTO a long time back - I did wonder why some helpful person removed it

(some sort of attempt at aggregating the Mac and Linux sections or something IIRC - think I may have changed it back to my old instructions once, but I couldn't be bothered getting involved in a wiki war, so I left it be in the end - guess more people have been fiddling in there since )

The nokia windows update let me install the beta. It won't allow me to roll back to an earlier version. 'Error 3' as reported by at least one other.

OK, well that seems to fit with what someone posted earlier about the NOLO update.

Your easiest way to get linux up and running would probably be to use one of the ready to go disk images for VMware player (free).

Ubuntu (here) might be your best bet - in fact I think this one's wrapped up as an 'appliance' i.e. a standandalone virtual machine so you don't even have to install Player separately - it's just ready to go unless I'm mistaken (I'd try it out for you, but I'm down to just a few 100 meg disk space ).

Gnuite, could you port Maemo Mapper as soon as possible, thank you!

Everything is a lot faster, I have swap enabled and its a breeze. I have had a couple of crashes but boot ups are faster. One thing I didn't see mentioned was that when Opera crashed, I got a notice from the OS asking me did I want to close it, this is a very good sign!!

I haven't tested VOIP yet, but I am going to soon. I hope Nokia release the Repository for apps soon, linked in the Garage at Maemo. For people who want to connect to Yahoo!, IRC, AOL (AIM), MSN etc.... see: http://www.bigblueball.com/forums/go...msn-yahoo.html

Please port all those lovely 2005 apps! Thanks!
