I would love to hear from other users what phone model they use and service provider they have as well as connection settings and speed test results they are getting.

Cingulars wireless USA Edge data plan

Motorola V551 Speed average 70k
Sony Ericsson W600i speed average 160k

Speed test sites that i have been using are
http://dslreports.com/mspeed/ using the 200k test
http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ using the drop down menu and selecting EDGE data
http://performance.toast.net/ using the text test

As noted in this thread http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ead.php?t=2174 using ips.cingular could wind up costing you a bundle depending on what service your paying for.

PDA SERVICE: ISPDA@CINGULARGPRS.COM ?
LAPTOP CARD: ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM ?

Year before last i had a 20mb plan with cingular that i went over due to using my laptop after the hurricanes in florida. That set me back $329 that moth for going over my limit.

Luckily I rarely need to use Cingular's data connect service. Took a road trip last month so we'll see if I get that $329 charge.

I'll check the thread...
