Is the hold switch hardware- or software-based?

usually I press once the power button and I select shut down, holding the button power off is faster but i think that it's anyhow software

The Hold switch on the N810 is software based.

salgua, You are talking about the power button.

I believe it is software based controlled by mce when on and nolo when off.

I saw options for retu in kernel compilation which afaik is power button controller (if not, then that other Finnish flintstone character )
