I have been doing some experimenting with navicore and have a few hacks that make the free software better. Assuming you know what your trial period was, set your system clock to the date that the trial was originally used. You can then go into preferences in navicore and change the screen between night mode and day mode. It won't get a gps lock at least on the n810 with the wrong date.
Second hack that I have been trying to do is get navigation working. If you open navicore, get a gps lock then change system date you can get into the navigation menu. If you try to plan a route though it will close navicore. It seems to kind of work if you open navicore, get gps fix, change date, select route, change date back. It told me to drive closer to the road though since I was a couple hundred feet back at my house. Then it kind of locked up and wouldn't update the gps location. Maybe someone else could try. It is too cold right now to stand outside waiting for a fix.
Hopefully the night mode is helpful for those that just like to see a realtime map at night in the car.

I am really not interested in unlimited free trials or in stealing the software. I plan on purchasing it for my next major trip. I do like however the night mode and finding holes in software and posting about them is not stealing. If indeed navigation works by changing the clock it is a lot of hassle but it is still fun to see if it can be done.

What is so great about night mode? It just turns the screen dark blue? And getting free navi by resetting the clock over and over again is definitely stealing--as well as lame.

Night Mode is great in the Night. It makes your eyes easier to adjust to the screen.
But I agree, resetting clock is stealing. You want to navigate with the wrong date, that's what the topic is about.
Just get a proper GPS reciever. I use TomTom on a PPC and it works and looks much better than WayFinder.
I have both the lifetime Navicore/Wayfinder GPS kit for my 800 as well as the Nuvi 750. They both have pros and cons. Overall the Garmin is a much better GPS though.
Navigation doesn't actually work. Only night mode works. If you had it set on night mode when your trial expired it would stay in night mode indefinitely.
