Ok a guy is trying to sell me a n800 that he says fails to connect to the internet Does anyone have any idea what this may be or if its fixable ?.. Odds are I can score this for cheap because of that but I don't really want to take the chance if it can't connect to the net cause yknow... that would be POINTLESS to even have one then at least to me...

Could be anything, but PEBKAC seems likely...

Your title reminds me of Ted Stevens, though.

You might take the IT out for a walk and see if a local AP pops up and if it does in fact work.

Or, it just won't fit down the Ted Tubes (TM).

Well, there are only a few dozen possibilities, so you may have to experiment. He may just be too ignorant to get it to connect, or it could have a serious defect. "Fails to receive the internet" is just a little too vague to decipher from a distance.
