i searched the forum for panavise and auto mount, and didn't see this previously mentioned, if I am repeating someone else I apologize! also, I do not, have not, and probably will not ever work for panavise and/or one of its distributers.

Hi. I've just completed a very snazzy install in my car, which I've been waiting to get done so I could let the rest of you know about it. Quite a few of the reviews I've read have gripped about not really seeing a point to the included car kit because they dont want to damage their dash, and I dont blame them.

Quick history. Years ago (motorola v60 release time frame) I got turned onto a company called Pavavise by one of the SBC (where they cingular yet then?) sales reps. Basically it was a metal bracket that attached under your various interior pieces of your center console and provided a fairly universal mount for car devices. I use it in that car to this day for my XM radio.

Fast forward to my purchase of a new car and and n810 (not at the same time). I really really wanted my n810 mounted in my car for various reasons, and LOVE the fact that it comes w/ a car kit (I won't get into what i really think about the quality of the kit, cause it was included as a bonus). After a bit of searching I re-found Panavise (their site has had some issues recently), found the right part number, searched around and got the part for 15$ w/ $15 s/h (considering MSRP was over 30$ thats not bad) and was able to order the part. Got it in today, took 20 minutes and installed it, and VOILA!

I've still got to find something to let me adjust the Nokia swivel, but all in all I think it works quite nicely. So for any of you out there interested, they make the bracket for all kinds of makes and models. You can search from here: http://www.panavise.com/f/comm/indash/index.html

well.. hope it helps someone.

and now I feel kinda stupid because while this wasn't mentioned specifically, there are "car mount" threads. I don't know why I searched for "auto" instead of "car"
