Stick the device on the charger and leave it there. It'll eventually power itself on into charging mode, after that, follow these instructions exactly:
Install xterm and becomerootReboot the Device
- Boot the device normally by holding down the power button, you can unplug the charger once the device is booted.
- After the device is booted, you need to install xterm.
- Tapping HERE on the tablet should install xterm for you.
- Tap HERE to install the becomeroot package.
Flash the Device
- Assuming xterm installed correctly, then open it up (should be in Extras in the Application Menu).
- Plug the device into one of the USB ports on your computer.
- Since reboot requires a root shell, type sudo gainroot and hit enter.
- After you have a root shell, type reboot and hit enter.
- Then as soon as you hit enter, begin holding down the Home key, and don't let go until you see a USB logo in the upper right of the Nokia splash screen.
- If you see the USB logo at the Nokia splash screen, then the device is now waiting to be flashed.
- Go ahead and plug the barrel charger in in case the download takes a long time.
- Now, start the flasher and let it flash the device.
After the flasher's done, the device will be running the latest firmware and you should have no more problems powering on.

See the steps in my post.
Either you stick it on the charger and wait it out (anywhere from 15 minutes to 8 hours), or you stick it in the freezer for about 5 or 10 minutes (plastic bag can reduce condensation), plug it into USB on your computer, start the flasher, and power on the unit holding down the Home button.

This happened to me all the time. I returned my N800 and bought a new one. No problems now.
Anyways the led had the charging scrolling battery animated. For good full hour Anyways I pulled the plug somehow and plug it back in now I don't get any led charging thing on my new n800 nokia. Had bad luck this evening. What is good way to fix it? I saw some post put in a freezer in a bag is that really true? How can I get it charge since I pull the plug on it while it was so charging? That made me mad.
