Thanks for porting these apps, Rob - looks good!

For some curious reason, the monthnames and daynames are displaying in Finnish on my otherwise UK N810 (2.2007.51-3).

(If you find yourself in need of another project, I'd love an OS2008 version of InfoOnTap, to handle the many flat-database files I've accumulated from my Psion-organiser days.)

Many thanks again for porting the calendar app!

    Simon.

    @here.david

In Google Calendar, go to manage calendars.

Using Firefox, I right-clicked on the ICAL link under the private address and opened in new tab. This allowed me to save the ICS files.

    Import them in Calend.

As noted elsewhere, they only KIND OF work.

Thanks so very much for taking the effort to help me
The app that I downloaded that gave me python2.5 was pyculator, thanks to your help! Now all is well and I have Gene Cash's program on my N800 . Just thought I should let you know that your advice actutally did the trick.

Me either, but what an incredible joy it would be!

I generally leave the nit at home because of the hassle of getting useful stuff from the Z31 to it :-(. The nit, at this point, is a glorified ebook reader for me :-(.

Did I mention that while I hate what Palm has become, I have been using the apps forever now .

To the jpilot folks... I haven't used it... are you referring to syncing Gene's apps with jpilot running on the PC, or running the jpilot software directly on the NIT?

Directly. It's a simple interface straight to the Palm's data. I think it parses straight from the files, too... I think it's GTK so someone with the right knowhow might be able to do it.

I would say they could just disable the Palm sync stuff unless someone wants to have a "satellite PIM" device all synced up?

I agree that sounds doable, and the jpilot screenshots look pretty good. I'm not offering to do it though mainly because I'm happy to be moving away from C.

With just a few more features I think Gene's apps will fill my needs pretty well. The one that sounds hardest is syncing, but I'm hopeful that if import/export to iCalendar files works better then opensync will be able to do something with that.

I installed Calendar and ToDo list without any problems but have troubles learning how to use them . To setup an event :
    - I open Cal, select Month, click on date square -Edit tab appears
    - in edit tab, I can select Category, previously created in ToDo list.
    - I set recurring weekly event, specify day and time, fill in Note.
    - I click on Apply and see a message about something about date cache.
    - My event does not appear on Calendar

PS. OK, I've got it - it does not work with recurring events, if I set one time event it shows up in calendar.

Also, could not find a way to bring events from ToDo list to Calendar - when I create new event in Cal, it brings up ToDo list window with previously entered item list , but what should I do to select an item and send it back to Cal?

I couldn't easily reproduce your issue. I created a weekly recurring item and chose a todo category and they all showed up in the month view as expected. I tried it once leaving the time at default (12:00am) and once specifying a time. I think the way calend works is that todo items created inside there only go to the todo app on the chosen date. I think the idea is that they are not cluttering up your todo list until you actually are "ready" to do them.

I don't believe there is currently any way to send todo items back from the todo app into the calendar.
