Just go into the Control Panel>>Notifications, and cancel it.

sorry,it was under control panel>>display>>led's..........but that will only turn off the corner led. i dont know how you can turn off the on screen envelope flash. can it be done?

it is handy. if I am in a coffee shop or something for a few minutes the IT notices that it has a WIFI connection and downloads mail.. that way if I am later in a place without wifi my email is on the tablet wating for me..
My problem is the damned little envelope keeps blinking even after I've opened the email client and read the new mail.
I don't remember it doing this before the last time I upgraded OS2008 but the damned thing seems to be blinking constantly AND on top of other applications.
I would like to just stop new email notification all together
