Problem with xterm, ncurses, Predict and the scrollbar

I've built Predict, the satellite tracking program, for OS2008. It works perfectly, but the ncurses formatting gets screwed up and no matter what font size I choose, it looks awful with certain views.

When I run it via ssh in an 80x24 window it looks fine. I'm pretty sure it would be OK in xterm without the scrollbar taking up space.

There are screen shots of Predict on its home page:

About halfway down, there is one for the Multi-Satellite Tracking Mode. When I run Predict in this mode in xterm on the N800, the last digit of the Range column is right up against the scrollbar, and the D character from the last row gets placed at the left-most edge on the next line. The column headings overflow the line too. Zooming in or out doesn't solve the problem and neither does changing the font size.

Is there any way I can optionally disable the scrollbar? I'm sure I used to able to do that with the Maemo Hackers version of xterm.

    Any suggestions welcomed.

umm - tried reducing the xterm fontsize?

    Just use the "zoom" buttons

well, thanks for doing the idiot check, but yeah, of course i have.

i can make it smaller, by zooming out, so the rows don't overflow, but the column headers remain on the wonk. i suppose i'm just annoyed that the xterm window doesn't seem to be a good fit for code that's been working nicely for years.

i guess i'll hack in some layout changes and make it fit better

I've been wanting to build this myself but just haven't gotten around to it. Would you share the sources and/or what you have working? I've also wanted to try the Gsat? portion. Have you tried that or is there any reason you think it might not work?

Thanks for your work on this!
