dunno but what has changed in Vista that breaks Samba?
I have trouble seeing plain samba because of authentication. Time to dig cause samba should simply work on the Nit.

I'll try to test this sometimes when I fire up the secondary Vista computer up... but to add to the irony even WindowsXP box appear have great difficulties seeing Vista shares...

Anyway, I do not expect Diablo be any different than Chinook with this regard.

I ve been using tversity media server on xp to stream my files from the windows xp to my n800(os2008). Can anyone tell me an easy method to do it without tversity so that i can see them directly in the file manager. I know i should search for it..But im being a bit lazy here. So go ahead and do it only if you have the time ..... if not just forget it. I dont mind not using that feature.

Thanks guys

vista needs username / password protection for samba access, which is the change from previous windows versions.

You mean that MS finally got religion and requires authentication now? "They have internet on computers now!" HS
All these years of admin access, no password by default. Imagine the meeting that decided that change.

I knew about the authentication problem since I can't connect to xp, nt, or samba because of it. I thought there were vista specific issues. I'm expecting that to be fixed in Diablo, too important not to (not because of vista per se).
