I just uninstalled map and reinstalled it which gave me the new version and removed the update notice.
Yup, the problem may be that the original source for the map program was the OS upgrade. Any map upgrades coming from the repo's might produce that "different source" conflict.
You should be good to go now for any future updates from the repo's.
