I used an old debian linux hack to speed up internet access on the 770. This is supposed to disable IPV6 apparently speeding up IPV4. It seems to work for me, as it appears to speed up page loading two fold (or maybe my imagination).
Well, at least it still works :-)
I'm not sure about speedup either... it *feels* snappier, but then again maybe it's just rebooting after a long while that did it some good !
I am not 100% sure Nokia uses the file, but digg.com and other pages seem to load faster. It works well with debian based linux distributions such as Ubuntu. Maybe I am seeing improvement from the reboot.
Create WHAT KIND of new file? I am sorry if this should be obvious, but are you talking a Notes file, or a htm file, what file format should this file be in before it's dropped in /etc/modprobe.d ?
Thanks a lot for this hack, I always knew the 770 page display speed was severely limited for some reason... this confirms it!
