Try typing "mount" into a terminal. See if the internal memory (I think it's /media/mmc2) is mounted readonly (ro).

Hi sorry to hear you're having problems!

as ace suggested, try opening xterm (in the utilities menu) and typing: "mount"

You should see something like this:
Code:
type rootfs (rw)

/dev/root on /mnt/initfs type jffs2 (ro)

none on /mnt/initfs/proc type proc (rw)

none on /mnt/initfs/sys type sysfs (rw)

none on /mnt/initfs/tmp type tmpfs (rw)

/dev/mmcblk1p2 on / type ext2 (rw,noatime)

none on /tmp type tmpfs (rw)

proc on /proc type proc (rw)

sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)

none on /dev type tmpfs (rw)

devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw)

tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,nosuid, nodev)

/dev/mmcblk0p1 on /media/mmc2 type vfat (rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,uid=29999,fmask=0133,dmask=0000,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1,shortname=mixed,utf8)

/dev/mmcblk1p1 on /media/mmc1 type vfat (rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,uid=29999,fmask=0133,dmask=0000,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1,shortname=mixed,utf8)

/media/mmc2 $
The bold red part is what you're interested in. If the section "(rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec" reads "(ro,nosuid, nodev, noexec" then that's what's causing the problem with not being able to delete the songs. Rebooting the tablet might solve this issue, or alternatively, type "umount /media/mmc2" to unmount the internal memory card. Make sure you do not have virtual memory enabled before doing this step. Then type "mount /media/mmc2" and try deleting the songs again.

I'm sorry I can't help with numbers 2 and 3, but I can answer number 4.

If you flash the device then you will lose anything you have downloaded, but you will get the applications and data the device came with (map data and chess and so forth).

Hope this helped a little

Just a possibility.
I was doing several things (Opera, Terminal, pypackager), including installing an application I ported (I know better than to do that to my 770, but :-).. and.. it rebooted while installing.
Ouch..
It came back up.. I went to remove the installed files so I could reinstall... No go.
Read Only.

So I check the mount.. nope, not read only.. Some things on the memory card are read-only, some aren't. I'd hosed my file system.

So, I pulled out the card and reformatted it with my laptop (I was testing it in the laptop, getting the same type of errors trying to delete, so I decided to reformat with him..). I was able to copy my data off and copy it back.

Good luck.

p.s. XP scandisk said it was fine, but it wasn't.

I've had this too when memory card got corrupted. My problem is that the card appears to be going faulty, Ive repartitioned it and reformatted using a variety of tools and each time it only lasts a few dozen file transfers. sorry to not offer positive news.

That's another idea... do a search on this forum for "N810 internal memory corrupted" or something similar and there's a couple threads that talk about how you can fix this or get it fixed
