Whenever I open my map application it cllses. This was after I accidently removed osso-software-version. Here is the terminal output.

~ $ /usr/bin/map
-sh: /usr/bin/map: not found
~ $ /usr/bin/navicore
navicore-navigator[1506]: GLIB DEBUG ConIc - con_ic_connection_send_event(0x249410, UmbrellaCo, WLAN_INFRA, 0)
navicore-navigator[1506]: GLIB WARNING ** Gtk - gtk_widget_size_allocate(): attempt to allocate widget with width -24 and height 0
~ $

Edit: Tried booting from my flash instead of internal memory and map still doesn't work anymore (I didn't do anything to my flash partition). So it's not related to osso-software-version?

Mine does the exact same thing now. I was planning on re-flashing tonight to see if that fixed it.

Does anyone know if there is some way to run it from the xterm to see if there is any helpful error msgs displayed?

Laughing Man, my n810 only has canola2, numpty physics, map, xournal, and modest installed if that helps.

spartanNTX, what I have above is the output when you run it in xterm. All you have to do is just input /usr/bin/navicore

And I tested this both on my boot from SD and my boot from internal flash. My boot from SD has a similar setup to yours. But my flash is factory setting. (well factory after a reflash and the setup to get it to do a dual boot. But it was working earlier this week).

Sorry about that, I don't know how I missed that you included the term output.

Could there be a certain amount of free space required? I only have 84.9MB avail on the device, and 1.18GB on the internal card. I just uploaded some new wallpapers last week.

My term out is the same as yours- no map app, same navicore msgs.

also, I tried re-installing the map app from app mgr last night which made no difference.

Interesting, if you do sudo gainroot (to become root) then run it, you get a different output that's slightly more useful. I'll post it in a second.

I have fixed the problem by deleting the map files and redownloading them.

Where did you download them from? I have seen them in a couple of places on the navicore site, and I want to get the latest ones.

Once you delete them off the SD card in your device, you can open map up and click avaliable maps you can download them from there.

Or you can just use the one from navicore, though I'm not sure which is the latest (I'd assume the ones on that the map program says are avaliable would be the latest though). Which is still quite dated as testimony on this site would say.
