I wanna buy 770 but before that wanna know a bit about it.
How much is the speed of CPU? and up which capacity of memory card can nokia 770 take'n?
Can I update it to OS 2008 or not?
what ist the essential difference btw. n800 and 770 ?

The essential difference between n800 and 770 is roughly 2x speed, memory, card slots (but not card size, which is ultimately 1000x ) etc... I would strongly suggest n800.
The 770s not necessarily bad (from what I've seen/heard) as a second unit. Maybe as a car unit, wifi remote, etc., but just not as a primary. Of course, the N800 is pretty cheap these days, so the gained homogeneity might even be worth it for that role.
i have a 770 and a n810. my n810 is being repaired/replaced because of a bad touchscreen. in the meantime i have reverted back to my 770. omg after using the n810 (and by extension the n800- basically same unit) the 770 is almost unusable....the processor speed is glacial and the much smaller swap file freezes the unit almost continually.....
Just to be fair. (And I'm not saying the 770 is in the same realm or class or species as the N800/N810!! :-)
I have kept my 770 mostly clean. OS2006. And I try to use it within it's scope. I try not to run too many applications at once, etc. (I usually have xterm open all the time, and then whatever other app)
(I found out recently that xterm, Opera, pypackager, and an application install was too much at once. :-)
And I almost never have freezes, and reboots are rare.
There are a few of us who are pretty happy with our 770's.
Then again, I'm happy with my Apple IIe and my Panasonic 3DO too.
I just sent my 770 back to Nokia for repair the second time. The first time I got a WSOD, this time the zoom in key has no response. Before I sent my lovely 770 back, it ran very well with 2006OS on MMC and 2007HE on flash. Most of the programs for 2006OS ran well on it and I didn't have a crash for a long time after a lot of tune up, and I was happy with it. Then one day,the zoom in key stopped working. After watching a few movies on it, I decided to send it back for repair since I couldn't turn up the volume. Luckily my770 is still under waranty. I heard someone got a N800 as a replacement because they don't have anymore 770. But even they send me back a 770, I am happy. Bottle line, 770 is a good machine after a lot of tune up, not great. You just don't know how long it will last.
