Does anyone know if any updates to the browser and flash player are to be made soon? More and more sites are including flash movies in the site such as bbcnews.com but I cannnot view any of them. It's clearly the fashion on the web presently but as an Internet Tablet it isn't providing enough usability presently.

An update would be helpful.

Not really sure about compatibility but I can tell you in diablo has newer flash version (2.50 in diablo compared to chinook's 2.35) and the performance is much better.

I hope so. Perhaps it'll stop the 'Please install flash' messages appearing on the screen.

Fingers crossed it may even allow access to the BBC iPlayer (but that's probably too much to wish).

Are you sure you have the flash player enabled? Usually the 'please install flash' message just means that for some reason the flash plugin has been disabled (I've never figured out why, but it does sometimes seem to turn itself off). Check the Tools/Components menu. (Flash seems to work fine for me on the bbc news site, but maybe there's a specific page giving you trouble.)

Qwerty12 can probably test the BBC iPlayer for you - at least he's in UK and can access it.

The iPlayer flash application displays but with all the controls greyed out and disabled. My guess is that it decides that whatever codec it needs isn't supported.
