I think it's all about getting the plastic flexible enough to pull it back and slide the Nokia right in without it scratching because once it's in, it's pretty solid. In the beginning the plastic was pretty hard, but over time of pulling the tab back, it's loosened up. I thought that way as well in the beginning that it'll get scratched with the mount, but now I've realized it's all about technique.

Also, I've noticed that when the Cr-89, with the Nokia in the cradle, is connected to Nokia's HH-12 windshield mount, the GPS sat time is under a minute cold and that's using it indoors. Must be something to do with having no contact with the human body which seems to hinder the signal. I usually swivel the HH-12 to where the Nokia logo is aiming up and I'm standing South and it seems to connect pretty fast. The last time I used the map was over a week ago, so I think between 45 seconds and 1 minute 30 isn't bad because when I'm holding the N810 in my hand, it can take upwards of 4 to 5 minutes to connect. I don't know if the HH-12 becomes a buffer between the GPS making the sat aquiring a lot quicker, but based on testing it seems to help a whole lot.
