Would be good to have between station transit times (which must exist somewhere as they are used in the TFL planner) so it could either route plan or at least give transit times for a trip.

Otherwise I agree that you don't gain anything over the paper map (except searching a bit faster perhaps).

I've got a copy of the GIF Tube Map from tfl.gov.uk on my N810 for when I need to refer to it. Can't imagine why the PDF'd be used in preference: the PDF Reader is still too slow to be useful IMHO.

A quick question...

So you guys are actually pulling out your expensive N8x0, and tapping away at them on the London Underground!?

And you haven't had any trips to the A&E Dept of your local Hospital?

Boris must be doing a good job on crime down there...

Any chance you can get him to come up to the Midlands? I know what'd happen to me if I tried that with my N800 around here.

The Palm programme 'Metro' works weil with 'GarnetVM'. Does not give a map but provides full routing with estimated times and route changes. Operates with both stations and points of interest and provides instructions on how to get to the nearest station from the points of interest. Not only for London but all other cities with a subway system.
Also the UK map (part of the Map programme) can show all the tube stations as POIs so the 2 could be used together.

.. or bus system. It's indeed an excellent program, and high on my wishlist for a N8x0 version. It's closed source though.

BTW, there's a web version too. Two, actually. The below is a link to a mobile-optimized version which is low-bandwidth and should be OK even over GPRS. If you follow the Metro link in one of the earlier postings you'll find the full-size web version as well.
