THANKS
I had been searching for google chat!

Now how do I get the video?

Browsing thru the google talk website I don't see any option for video built in.
From their help center
Can I video chat in Google Talk?

Video or webcam chatting isn't currently supported in Google Talk.

If you'd like to see these features (or any others) in future versions, let us know.

all you need to do is to make a call and it will work....give me your gmail id and I will call you...

or...make a contact... and call them...works on a N8x0 to N8x0 only...

Click on the middle symbol on the left column (the one with the heads below the browser symbol), choose "chat" and follow the instructions to define an account.

I installed X-lite on my macbook at home and the video calling with the N800 is amazing! I don't know why I cried about the lack of a video call application program for the PC or Mac from Nokia, because the SIP program X-Lite works better than the internal call application ever did.

The key to using it properly is setting up two voip service accounts with a provider such as voipbuster (which is free). Register one address on the N800 and the other on the PC or Mac running X-Lite, and it works.

My brother is in south korea teaching for a year and videochat through gizmo was quite awsome. His laptop has a built in webcam so he gave my family a tour of his apartment. My mother loved it as he is the first to live far away from home. I find I use my N800 for communication more than I thought I would.

Did you get good quality with Gizmo? Last time I tested it, the video was not nearly as robust as the SIP client.

HI TabulaRasa,

I can get the voice side working between xlite and N800 INternet call but cannot get the video side to work - each side shows the video it wants to send but no video leaves either side to get to the other side - weird.

Anybody have an answer on what i bneed to configure to get this side o fthe internet call working?

This might be due to firewall settings. Also -- what quality are you sending at? Did you select h.263 on xlite?

Also, which sip server are you using. For some reason, when I use pulver or voipbuster, the video works but it didn't work reliably when i tried using sightspeed on the mac.
