Got tired of those too and turned off the sounds....
I might try tinkering with a soundtheme again soon. The sounds should be so discreet and low volume that one feels that the sounds comes from the tapping on the screen or from electrons wooshing through the processor
I've been threatening to write one for some time. I'll start work on it, now that i know there's another geek in the Nokia fanbase. ; ) I'll post when it's done.

but dark orange on black is too hard to see (especially using meamo mapper)
could there be another version released that has lighter more readable text color?
for those of us that are cli challenged, it would be great.
A new version is out, with brighter text as requested. I just had to figure out how to edit the gtkrc file to define colors for specific elements, rather than larger categories.

Thanks for asking! These are probably the kinds of things you're already planning, but it would be great if you could eventually add support for the statusbar icons, and expand on the source image. Audio would be nice too, since there isn't yet a standardized way to package replacement sound sets.

Hmm... statusbar icons I've been thinking about myself as well. I'll add them probably pretty quickly. Well, at least some of them. So, for the next release there will be:
- changeable title font size.
- status bar icons
- maybe some audio support
- Support to change height of status bar and width of the left and right borders
