If I might ask: what software is providing your IP information in that screen? That's essentially what I wanted, but I've found (and settled on) IPHome. I would rather have something like the applet shown in your screenshot, with transparency, etc... even if it shows a little less information.

One of Khertan's Home applet collection. They're in Extras-devel.

Well, you can edit the applet to show whatever interface you want.

Nope, it can be done in chinook too

true, but i dont feel like editing it. and iphome is smart enough to show them all depending on whats active at the moment.

hmm, as in a usb-ethernet dongle?

In this case, it means having the n800 show up as an network interface when you connect it to a pc so you can remotely compile programs, use the pc's net connection, ssh in over usb etc.

But you can connect a usb to ethernet adapter and use it successfully. usbLAN sets it up and i've compiled a asix module for someone else.

thanks... I grabbed up a bunch of 'em. Of note, is one called homecalendar which "displays an mCalendar". I downloaded it and installed it, and so far (on my system) it displays an error message about not being able to open a database.... I guess I need to find out what an mCalendar is, and how to get one on my system, now... but that's well outside the scope of this "screenshots" thread, so...

    thanks again for the pointer.
