During the walk it was great to have the map handy on the display. I got it up to zoom level 5 which is an enlarged view from the original map, much better to read, even in direct sunlight;-) The battery lasted the whole day.
The recorded Track is somehow jagged due to errors in the GPS position. The recorded distance is at least 10% to 20% more than real. It would be great to have some filtering to get the real track length.
I use google earth to load and display the track and then follow it with the ruler to get the real track length. Until now I don't have a tool that makes such automatically and prints the height profile, too. Any suggestion for this?
My Conclusion: N810 and maemo mapper are a great team for outdoor activities with some potential for further improvements.
