I have a N800 with OS2008 and am eligible for free wi-fi access at AT&T hotspots since I have my home DSL with them. When I attempted to use it today at a Barnes & Noble, I had connected fine and when I started the browser, I reached an AT&T splash page asking me to enter my ID and password. After doing so, I got "javascript error message" asking me to "enter my password". For some reason, the page would not "read" my password. When I contacted AT&T, I was told that I probably needed to upgrade the Flash in my device's browser. (I checked my browser set-up and I have javascript enabled.)
Has anyone else experienced this problem, or does anyone have any suggestions? It would be really convenient to be able use AT&T's extensive wi-fi-network.

I use AT&T wi-fi all the time on my n800. Maybe you have the browser set to reject cookies? From the way its acting, it sounds like a cookie issue cuz IE does the same thing on web pages when you try to log in to a site but reject the cookie. Also check to make sure in your settings that javascript is enabled.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I checked to make sure I had javascript enabled. I just looked and I do have "always" checked on accepting cookies. However, i do not have SSL 2 enabled. Could that have anything to do with it?

SSL2 may well be the issue. Enable it and try again. I would flush cookies and history first though.

Well I finally achieved success, but I'm not exactly sure how I did it. I kept fiddling with the browser settings and finally I was able to get on the AT&T Wi-Fi network. Enabling SSL 2 didn't do it. It seems changing the cookie setting to "Ask first" allowed me to enter my password. Now that I'm in, the tablet remembers the password and I don't need to enter it again, so i was able to change the cookie setting back to "Always allow".
