That's interesting, I wonder how it works. Is it really needed?

than maybe you can just allocate rfcomm port and start gpsd like
Code:
PORT=`dbus-bluez-rfcomm bind <your:bt:gps:id:here>`
gpsd /dev/$PORT

Why not just run /usr/libexec/navicore-gpsd-helper to bring up gpsd?

Hi guys! I'm trying to connect my Samsung Blackjack to my Nokia N800 running OS2008 through the script posted on fanoush post.

Has anyone of you tried it? Yesterday I was able to connect both devices successfully but when I try to connect them again to share the internet connection the devices are connected and disconnected very quickly. Does anyone have this problem? I would like to know any info or help from you. Thank you!

i found that someone went and ported hcitool and some of the other bluetooth tools for os2008. Great!!

i am trying to use the script i was working on (cited below for reference)

#! /bin/ash
hciconfig hci0 up
hcitool cc 00:12:6F:00:09:16
gpsd hci0
kismet
kill `ps -ef |grep gpsd |grep -v grep |awk '{print $1}'`
hciconfig hci0 down

i kept getting messages in kismet about not being able to connect to gpsd and retrying in a decrementing number of seconds.

i pared down the script to test the gpsd connection to the following...

#! /bin/ash
hciconfig hci0 up
hcitool cc 00:12:6F:00:09:16
gpsd hci0
# hciconfig hci0 down

i watched the gps reciever i have, and the connection was made, but dies within a couple of seconds. how can i trace out what is going wrong? Maemo Mapper can use the gps, as long as the bluetooth system is up and running first. also i have paired the gps receiver with the n800 using the normal GUI method.

/etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf and /etc/default/rfcomm.conf have been edited to reflect the proper settings.

It looks like you can install hcitool, rfcomm, sdptool, and all those other nice things with

Code:
apt-get install bluez-utils-test
It's in the main maemo repository:

Get:3 http://repository.maemo.org chinook/free bluez-utils-test 3.22-0osso2 [192kB]

I'd love to know this too. Anyone?
