Please, does someone know a box store that would carry these, I too would like to pick one up, but don't want to pay more for shipping than the item costs.... Thanks.

I don't know of any stores, but who cares whether it costs more to ship than the item "costs"? If you could find a store that carried it, do you think the price would be the same?

From a consumer's perspective, it costs exactly what it costs (shipping+price); and you just pick the option with lowest total cost. I doubt you'd come out ahead by buying at a chain store... no shipping, but I bet the price would easily make up for it.

But my tendency, presuming an online order, is to go with one of jolouis's adapters; that gets OTG autoswitching, and you can use a USB extender cable (which I have plenty of, that came packaged with thumbdrives back before front-panel USB was prevalent) if you want things decoupled a little. YMMV, of course.

Just got one yesterday, it took 6 days from Amazon market place.

one of each, NOT one pair of each, including s/h for a total $11.24. While shopping, I found ebay selling for $10.99. I was so upset that I paid $0.25 more (This is a joke)
a) USB Gender Changer, A Female To Female
b) USB Female A To USB Mini Male B 5 Pin Adapter (BTW, this one cost $0.01)

The title said FREE shipping. Which is WRONG, you still have to pay s/h. And I did try some other "cheap" stores, these are very difficult to find.

Edit: I recheck the invoice, it is 6 days.

I looked in stores for the female-to-female adapter, asking at Radio Shack, Circuit City, Best Buy, even Electronics Boutique. None had anything close, and trust me it is not worth the time it will take to explain to them what it is you're looking for. At best, they'll shrug... at worst, you'll go on wild goose chases in each store and end up with nothing.

My older bro was able to find the USB to mini-USB adapter, but only in a package that included five other USB variant to USB variant adapters. He sent that to me and I got the F-F at Amazon.

Save yourself the bother. Purchase online and wait for Brown to bring it to you.

I have never ever seen these in shops either, not even in warehouse-size electrical chains. They have them on the website and maybe they could be ordered, but they're never on the actual shelves.

I think actual physical shops don't really carry these because there's not much practical use for them outside the tablet community.

Unless you have an internet tablet, why would you want to link two male USB cable plugs together?

Fry's Electronics carries them, but they're mainly located in Texas and California (with a few other stores scattered around elsewhere) so everyone else is out of luck.

i got mine at Big Lots (local close-out store) it came in a pack of USB adapters and was like 7 bucks for the pack.

Might sound silly..try Kmart or Walmart...I've seen FtF USB included in many cheapo "travlers" adapter sets.. MicroCenter (not sure if they exsist in your region) has them too.
