After solving it, I browsed the source of tsc2301 in kernel-source-rx-34_2.6.21.0-osso63.1, and I think there's a similar bug there...
Unfortunately, I won't have time until next week to hack my device (or submit a clean tested patch), but if you can build/flash your own kernel, PM me and I'll provide details.
