I was using an older version of mplayer with mlbviewer (to watch Major League Baseball's live and archived games).
There were problems with the live feeds (lots of fuzziness) but the archived ones worked well.
Then I updated mplayer to the latest version to see if that could solve problems. All it did was to also make the archived feeds fuzzy.
Fine.
I'll just uninstall mplayer and reinstall an older version.
Except now I'm getting an 'mplayer already installed' message when I try that.
When I try to uninstall the current version of mplayer completely through the application manager, I can't because I get an 'unable to install mplayer. Some application packages are needed by other applications.' These include the canola2-youtube plugin, mlbviewer, mediabox and streamtuner.
Great.
Is there an easier way to retreat from this mplayer update than uninstalling these four applications first?
from the terminal, try
# apt-get -f remove mplayer
this will uninstall mplayer no matter what.
# means you must have root access. to get it, you need to install the becomeroot package and type:
$ sudo gainroot (note: the dollar sign means you are "user")
open application manager
add the following repository: http://eko.one.pl/maemo/
distribution: bora
components: free
refresh the application list
install the becomeroot package
then in terminal type:
"sudo gainroot" enter.
"apt-get -f remove mplayer" enter.
P.S. J'habite a montréal, et je peux dire que rien d'interessant ne s'y est produit pendant les dix dernières années. Les plus grandes nouvelles sount toujours les sports et la météo. Si seulement quelque chose pouvait être plus exitant...
