Thread title says it all.

I'm using two 8GB class 4 SDHC cards atm. I can get 8GB class 6 at a very good price now - am I likely to notice any real difference in write and read performance for multimedia use?

TIA.

Probably not on the N800 itself. I have a 2GB SanDisk Extreme card, which reads and writes close to 20MBps on a PC, and about 5MBps on my N800.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll pass on them until 16GB become readily available at a decent price.

from your link, this is this instructions::

The custom kernel can be flashed from outside the Scratchbox with the flasher tool.

# flasher -f -k /scratchbox/users/<yourname>/home/<yourname>/maemo_kernel/\
kernel-source-diablo-2.6.21/kernel-source/arch/arm/boot/zImage

is this true?... i dont know how to do that..
can i just load the .bin somewhere on 800? and reboot?

No, the kernel lives on another device. You can use fiasco-flasher on the tablet, or flasher-3.0 on a Linux system over USB.

If you don't have Diablo. (It works if you have Diablo, too, but there's no point since they added fiasco-flasher.)

re: flashing hi-speed kernel...

Sorry, a bit thick this morning...

So, if you do have (stock) Diablo, you download the new kernel, su/sudo and flash, right?

What (if anything) do you do differently if you have root on MMC/SD?

Thanks,
