I've just updated my 2006 IT to v26-8 of 2006 using auto update via usb. Anyone know what's new with this update?

Version 1.2006.26-8 came out end of june. Lot's of information about that update can be easily found with search.

The version 26-8 is not an update to the 2006 update, it is the 2006 update. So that's not news, really ...

My 2006 tablet (1 week old) treated it like an update and went thru the whole update process.
Should it have done that?!!

If you'd already spent 10 hours configuring it, then no. Otherwise no harm done.

I know this thread is 12 days old, but sheding some lite on the subject, just becuase you bought it in 2006 and it was 1 week old, doesnt mean it had the 2006 OS, it probably had the 2005 and thus you had simply done theupgrade to 2006. There has only been 2 2006 releases, the BETA (which would have never found its way onto a retail version that was sew and the Version that has been available since end of June.
