I upgraded to Diablo today and after a bit of mucking about managed ot get my llsit of apps back . Most installed ok but the ones i need most do not work ( although installed)
For the next few months i would like ot go back to " the good ol days" of Chinook.
I have searched and not come up with much int he way of info ( Tablet owners only seem to wanna go forward !! )
I m using Nokia S/W updater and if i can locate the .bin file for Chinook then i am hoping i can take the N800 back.
If anyone out there who knows where this file lurks i would very much appreciate it
Follow appropriate link (from this post; see below), enter your WLAN number, download OS version you want, open Nokia s/w updater, and point it to file you downloaded instead of having it install latest version.
om weather crashed when trying to add location , pidgin wouldn't connect to server. The RDP app didnt work and had screen corruption when accessing websites.
I'm sure things will be sorted out soon .. and i even see that the weather app has already been fixed with version 0.20.5.

I use Pidgin a lot, and it works well for me in Diablo. Maybe give that one another shot. I wish xmame would install though.
EDIT: Nevermind. I got xmame installed. Also, Rdesktop works for me as well, but it seems to take 3-4 tries sometimes before it works.
Not sure what the issue was with pidgin , as soon as i got back to Chinook it worked no problem. There is only mone more issue for and its the biggie .. didnt mention it before because i was in the middle of trying to sort the issue out but my phone doesnt seem to want to connect via DUN the only way to get round this easily was to go down the PAN route. Unfortunately PAN does not work seamlessly on Diablo .. thre is a complicate fix to get round the problem something a n00b like me wont even attempt to follow. This will be the source of internet for my N800 when on the road so until that is sorted then i'll have to stick with the older OS.
