So we're on the road and the internet connection at the hotel (where I'm stuck for 2 weeks) isn't downloading the OS update quickly enough to beat the 1 hr limit.

Resuming the download results in a connection error, I guess b/c of Nokia's arbitrary time limit. (I'm using Firefox 3 on Tiger) Is the solution to look for a better downloading program/plugin, or will the downlolad automatically start new each time from Nokia's site, no matter what?

I get about 90% before the hour's up. I think someone personally hosted the upgrade files when OS2008 first came out. Is that happening again, anyone know?

Thanks!

It's fast for me. As fast as my connection can (110 kB/s)

Im able to download it at 700kB/s. It looks like the hotel's internet is slow, so downloading it from somewhere else wont do any good.

Well, I'm pretty sure you're not at the mercy of my extended stay hotel's crappy internet connection.

I'm sure the problem is on my end, not Nokia's. It's downloading - just not quickly enough.

I just thought it might work from somewhere that didn't have a time limit involved.

Thanks to both for checking nokia's speed; it confirmed my suspicions that the hotel was the culprit. (Even normal browsing is a tad slow right now.)

Hey, what do you know? 3rd time's a charm! According to the status bar, it didn't look like there was any way it was going to finish in time, but it appears to have downloaded.

Thanks for the comments, both! Now to flash . . .
