Yes, i know about this issue, the problem ist that the autobuilder picked up the build-dependency libglade2-dev from extras, which contains libglade 2.6, while libglade 2.4 is preinstalled on the tablets, this results in the dependency on libglade 2.6 on the final package, but the application manager refuses to update libglade2 on the tablet.
I will look into this issue this evening, my guess is that i will have to rebuild Gnumeric in my scratchbox and have to upload it by hand, without using the autobuilder.
Edit: correction, this fixed the other application packages I was having trouble with, but not the libglade2. Thanks Chelli for your work on this.
Sorry, but it seems that i can not solve this issue today, the only way to solve this in a relative short amount of time, would be to build it in scratchbox locally and upload it to a repository other than diablo-extras-devel, because direct uploads to diablo-extras-devel are not allowed anymore and building it in the autobuilder causes problems with libglade.
I allready sent a mail to the maemo-developers mailinglist, asking for comments, but is guess it will take some time until this issue will be solved.
Maybe i will upload a fixed version to my private repository tomorrow, i will keep you updated.
My 2 cents... The new "hey! there are updates available!" keeps popping up. It lists gnumeric, but right there on the problems tab, it complains about libglade. <sigh>.
The problem with the uninstallable Gnumeric should be fixed now, the version of libglade2-0 which caused the problems was removed from diablo-extras and diablo-extras-devel and Gnumeric was recompiled against the old libglade, so it is installable again.
App manager keeps saying libpcre3 is not installable so I can't install Gnumeric.
How did the rest of you get it to work?
(I don't have any Chinook repositories enabled)
It should be working now, i did not know about the problem until a few hours ago, because i got libpcre3 from the tools-repository, which s primarily intenden for developers.
Anyway, i uploaded libpcre3 to extras-devel now, so you should not see problems anymore.
why is it, when gnumeric is installed on diablo and i tap what cell i want to type in and then i have to tap the text bar at the top instead of just being able to tap the cell and start typing????

This behaviour is not different to the behaviour on Chinook, but it is a known problem. According to the author of the original port of Gnumeric to Maemo, Eduardo Lima (etrunko), this was done to avoid problems with the onscreen-keyboard of the 770 and N800. Of course it is not so important for the N810, but i have not yet found the place where i would have to tweak the code to change this behaviour.
