hey,

i have had my 770 (i believe its the 06 model) for a while, but after a few strongly devoted efforts, i had given up on trying to get my device to play youtube videos. But as of recently, i have been attempting to give that another shot.

when i go to "application manager" and click on "install new", "canola2-youtube-plugin" is listed, but it says i am unable to install it. after some time on google, i found the direct download page. i then proceeded to download Canola2 to my device. this did not work.

i followed all of the instructions, aside from deleting canola1, as i did not even have it on my device.

i would greatly appreciate if someone could walk me through getting canola2 on my 770, or anything that will play youtube videos.

thanks.

i'm quite sure that canola2 only works on 2007HE software (and of course 2008). Besides - running youtube/flash is probably gonna be a choppy affair - even on my N800 it's not smooth.
I just upgraded from a 770 - and the speed gain is phenomenal, so running flash on 770 is probably a nogo.

I was only able to get that to work on the OS2007HE...as you did not state which OS you have I am assuming it was not the OS2007HE.

Have you tried uktube? If that doesn't work, you can install Python, Mplayer and xterm and download the clips manually with youtube-dl, then watch them with MPlayer. This requires some basic knowledge of linux and commandline though. uktube does this all automatically so try that first. Be sure to install wlan bug fix for 770 too.
