Hello,

My n810 stopped turning on the keyboard light when it slides out. I have installed some games on it and some networking software, but nothing that should affect this behaviour. I have tried doing it in total darkness, and also covering the light sensor, even since before booting, and it wont go. It _never_ turns on on its own.

Searching the forums:

This thread is solved by covering the light sensor, which i tried.

This person had some file system corruption. However i do not use an SD card, only the internal memory of it, so i can't fsck it. He notes:
By the way, if it's any use to anyone, the control files for the keyboard are in `/sys/class/leds/keyboard/', while the files for the external LED are in `/sys/class/leds/cover'.
By doing echo "123" > /sys/class/leds/keyboard, it turns on, but stays on forever, or until i set another brightness level, which seem to go from 0 to 255.

The automated behaviour seems to be completelly gone.

Looking at the service list, i noticed that the "Machine Control Entity (mce)" service is not running. Trying to start it reboots the tablet.
"System UI (osso-systemui)" is also not running but starts peacefully.

What can i do? This is a major loss of functionality.

Just to add that "System UI (osso-systemui)" starts peacefully but does not solve the problem. It is set to start at boot.

Not to belabor anything, but does it persist through a reflash, or would you rather not test that? (I can certainly understand not wanting to, by the way, just asking.)

Thank you, reflashing fixed it.

I had the same problem. The keyboard lights worked after reflashing until I installed the powerlaunch app. As soon as I uninstalled powerlaunch the lights worked again.

+1 on uninstalling Power Launch. I wasn't using it, but an uninstall fixed the keyboard light problem that I've had for the second time now.
