I have the same problem. I keep getting caviar all over my screen when I'm in my Learjet.

When using my n810 as a GPS unit in the car, I had my bluetooth keyboard, and it makes a very effective remote. alt-tab to bring up the menu, arrow keys, space to pause the media player, etc.

Seems like Nokia must have gotten some contributions from these folks to embed their icons.

Thanks again.
Maybe you can install them then uninstall them and the icons will be removed?""

Installing, then uninstalling gets rid of the unwanted icons. You'd think there would be an easier way(short of editing files)though.

Accessing memory from PC:
(Not tried Windows just Linux but should work)
Install ssh-server on the tablet. Install e.g. wscp, PuTTY SSH client on Windows.
Use SSH copy to access the tablet filesystem
/media/mmc2 - 2G Internal SD memory
/media/mmc1 - removable SD card
/home/user/MyDocs/.documents, .sounds etc. - tablet users documents etc.

ssh-server gives you root; ssh login gives you access to dpkg and apt-get which may be easier to use to manage packages than the GUI. Try "dpkg -h"

Running out of disk space in the root filesystem ? Clean out
/var/cache/apt/archives or move them to SD. Move MP3s, videos from
/home/user/MyDocs to SD.

FYI, I started yet another FAQ. I'm a long-time command line Linux user, so a lot of it is
xterm/CLI stuff with the odd duh! like "why won't my SD card fit?"

I only just discovered this by accident. It may be old news but a search didn't find anything relevant so here goes:

In text entry context (xterm, notes, input field in browser etc) with the slide keyboard open, press SHIFT+SPACE once and then CHR. You then get a full stylus keyboard (or HWR if that's your preference) instead of the usual special character selection menu and you can use both input methods simultaneously!
