That earphone looks like it has a seperate transmitter (bluetooth?). But that's no different from a non bluetooth wireless headphone. I'd prefer it uses the 770's bluetooth so we don't have to have a seperate transmitter.

He is talking about Logitechs Bluetooth Wireless Headset. It came in two basic configurations, one for IPOD and one For MP3 Players (most brands compatible). The difference is the IPOD version has a White Bluetooth Transmitter and has linited integration with the IPODs Volume and Scroll Functions and the MP3 Has a Black transmitter that also has a 2.5 MM phone Plug that slides from side to side to enable it to align with different brands better. Both units allow Volume Control from controls located on the Headset.
Your statement is correct, the Device uses a seperate Bluetooth Transmitter that plugs in the headphone jack. 9Transmitter also requires charging. The included AC Power Supply has two connectors on it, they use same proprietary connector)It will also work with most any device with a 2.5mm Headset jack. Either of the headsets, MP3 or IPOD WILL WORK with a Bluetooth Device that supports the Headset Profile. (NOKIA 770 obviously has limitations of its own) I use mine without the BT Transmitter on my TMOBILE MDA, Cingular 2125 without a hitch. Any phone or PDA that works wioth most Bluetooth Headsets should work with the Logitech BT Headset.

NOTE: These Headsets have known issue that they very easily break dead center in the middle of the HeadBand. It will start a hairline crack and shortly break. It is ackmowledged by Logitech. They will replace under the 2 year warranty. Their supplier says they have fixed the problem, I had a replacement already splt again. They will replace until your 2 years is up, so if you dont mind, you get alot of extra power supplies and transmitters! Also, if your good with soldering iron, there is ahack online where guys are taklng the transmitter out of broken headset and using it to make BTwireless amplified speakers

Also sold under Hewlett Packard Logo in a Blackish Grey MetalflakeColor.

In closing, having that module does give you a bit more flexibilty, bang for the buck, so to speak. If you can get a set that wont bspklit. These have been as low as $25 on the Net and Ebay. (Doesnt mean you can go find a set right now for $25, I have seen it on that site that lists one item for like 24 hours at a killer price (Cannot remeber the name) I just sqw them for $27.99 at geeks.com for refurbs.

While Logitech still supports these under warranty, they are no longer featured on their website, and I have not seen any replacement either.

If I may add an interesting link to your expose:

http://eastep.blogspot.com/2005/06/b...e-upgrade.html

This is a nice one for when the headphones break (although mine are still going strong after six months) or if you don't like the "ergonomics" of the Logitech headphones (and let's face, those aren't great). I might take a stab at it myself, provided I can find a really comfortable and inobtrusive set.

"Expose" you got an outloud chuckle from me on that one. I can assure you, my term paper on the elusive "Logitech Bluetooth Headset" didnt start out that way. Then nuddenly I realized I knew enough about them that it did warrant it to be posted. The MOD done by the guy in your post was cool. I bet that alot of these headsets after breakage are being utilized. I know I didnt trash any. I was also happy to hear that my HP set is an easy swap. They are setting here hanging as I didnt want to mess with HP.
Thanks for info.
I can use on my next chapter on "The Care and Feeding"

Here is some more handy info. I am dealing with same topic at howard forums. Thought some will find handy later:

Here is the easy replacement Info from Logitech:

QUESTION: Why is my MP3/iPod headphone cracking?

ANSWER:
This article applies to the following products:
Wireless Headphones for MP3
Wireless Headphones for iPod

Cause:
With some Logitech wireless MP3/iPod headphones, a limited number of customers have experienced some deterioration of the headband.

Solution:
For Logitech, it is important for our customers to be fully satisfied with our products. If you have experienced this issue with one of these Logitech products, please contact our technical support group at the following number:

Contact Us: 1-800-936-0033
Business Hours:
6:00AM – 6:00PM PST Monday-Friday

Logitech will, in accordance with the two-year limited warranty on the headphone, replace the product or refund the purchase price. Please note that this telephone number is only for customers experiencing deterioration with the MP3/iPod headphones. Please have the following information available when you call:

1. Model Number (M/N) for the headphone located on the right side of the headband
2. Product Identification Code (PID) for the headphone located under the right ear pad

END

I personally would buy another pair if the price is right. They sound great (I do not have critical audio ear) and I know to be careful placing them ON/OFF the neck. I also like that I can use without the Module as a regular Stero Bluetooth Headset, and still use with Non Bluetooth Devices using the included BT Transmitter.

Actually, I'm rather hoping mine will break now. The mod looks indeed very interesting, but not interesting enough to break them on purpose, though...

Fidibus,

I have the Plantronics Pulsar as well.

Just to be clear... you are using it with the Bluetooth "dongle" plugged into the headphone port on the 770, with the native microphone on the 770?

I guess this works but it really has nothing to do with the 770 supporting Bluetooth headsets!

Hi Wesley,

is already clear.

But which would be otherwise the solution - In the Moment is the Plantronics Pulsar the only possibility at the same time telephone and music hear - with this connection

I would also rather go to the direct away - but it is supported at present nothing - at least admits to me

Fidibus

The goal would be already clear
