Has anyone intsalled the new Osso Xterm for ITOS 2006. I can not seem to find the dependancies (libncurses5 and libvte4). The listed repository ( http://repository.maemo.org/ ) is empty. Port page is here:

The original xterm for the 770 is ported and available for IT2006OS here.

Just install libncurses and osso-xterm packages and you're ready to go.

    Hello,

I think , as suggested by the site http://maemo-hackers.org/wiki/OssoXterm, that you use the new install method (inspired from debian apt method):
    - Open the application manager
    - Go to the menu
    - Open Tools -> application catalog
    - Create two new catalogs with the values written at http://maemo-hackers.org/wiki/OssoXterm
    - Close the catalog editor
    - An update of application list should be automatically launch (shows an error but actually, the update is correct).

Then, you can choose to install new applications:
    - maemo-games-startup
    - maemo-games-startup-dev
    - maemopad
    - osso-xterm

The dependencies are "automagically" followed (it downloads all packets needed).

I've just install maemopad and xterm this way and it works. Within some days, I hope that the repositories will get full of new packets and that we will be able to forget manual installations...

Worked fine for me- setup both as directed, then install Xterm.

Hmmm... tried to install this but

    1. on the http://maemo-hackers.org/wiki/OssoXterm I only see one catalog indicated,

    2. When i try to install xterm it claims libice6 and libsm6 are missing

    Anyone know what's going wrong?

EDIT: OK figured this out by looking at a cached copy of that page, then at http://www.maemo.org/maemowiki/ApplicationRepositories

This is the second repository to add:

    Web address: http://repository.maemo.org/
    Distribution: mistral
    Components: free

On a related note, lots of programs I want to install seem to require libncurses5.5-1, but I can only find libncurses5. Anyone know where to get 5.5-1?
