lardman-
I thought I had missed your post. But clearly I since I responded to it, I did see it. I ended up seeking some local guidance since I wanted to see how it all worked...the sausage being compiled, but it did not work out that way. I guess with the momentum of what help I did get in person, I had forgot about your post. Thank you none the less. I really want to find the time soon and learn to code myself. I envy you guys.

I did try it briefly last ight at rest. It did appear the speed was recorded as 0 mph. I'll do a real test today.

Is there a way to record the timestamp of the gps record? I am taking my first trip to Europe tomorrow and would like to geo-code the location of the photos I take. Make has an all too simple way of taking a photo of the GPS unit after every photo. They sell GPS tracking devices (Engadget), but I would really like to use my N810.

I leave in less than 24 hours so I won't be able to make an code changes. If I knew, or was reasonably sure, of the approx timing of the GPS coordinates (are they every 1 seconds?) I can just use that.

I would like to use gpstracer since I am going to use the Waypoint maps for directions and value a light-weight app.

Thanks,

gpstracer stores the timestamp, but does not export it.
So, You can use it now, and I will add the export of the timestamp later.

David.

Hmm, I just tried it out today (playing with my new bluetooth GPS). I noticed that the time remains stuck on 3/9/08 though the position and speed updates
