I was able to pair the Motorola H505, but it's fuzzy and kept breaking up when I was trying to Skype with my mom...though that could be a result of her mobile phone being used at work, I'm not sure. I'll keep on trying to test it. It's really going to annoy me if I have to spend more money to get anew bluetooth headset.

I just picked up a VoiceStar VS700 BT headset.
It's at Radio Shack on clearance starting today for $9.97.
(I'm an associate so after my employee discount is was 6 bucks and change last night.)

As expected, it's not super duper clear, but it paired effortlessly, worked fine with Skype right away, and even passes the rest of the devices audio through.
While it sounded really bad I was able to listen to some internet radio through the thing.

    Impressive!

I imagine a "good" headset or one that does stereo would be a GREAT match-up!

I tried using the H505 again with a skype-to-skype call and my boyfriend complained that he could hear the static and it was hard to hear me.

    *sigh*

Will a regular cell phone corded headset work? I don't like the kind that have the dangling microphone, but if my old plantronic will work, I'll just try to dig that out...

Thanks. I couldn't find the plantronics one I used to have, so I'm thinking about purchasing this one ( http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-Over-Ear...0715969&sr=8-4. ) It doesn't list the N810, but if it's a standard headset, it should work, right?

I can think of no reason why any wired headset designated for Nokia wouldn't work. The key would be the jack size, 3.5mm or 2.5mm. The N810 is 3.5mm

My headphones work, but the 3.5mm connector gets a bit deep stuck. It is difficult to get it out of the NIT. It isn't a big problem if you'd just leave the connector attached, and I don't know if this occurs with wired headphones.

The Nokia stereo headset that came with my N810 is an HS-48 plugs in removes smoothly. You may find that the mechanical fit will be smoother after some use. All plus of the same barrel size will have differently shaped knobs on their ends. Mechanical tolerances aren't critical for these jacks and some combinations of plug and jack will fit a little different when they have different manufacturers.

Unfortunately, it didn't specify if it was 3.5mm or not....hope it is because dealing with my bluetooth is really driving me crazy. It's way too fuzzy. I think it's just a cheap BT headset to be honest...it never worked right with my mobile, either.

From what I can see, Nokia has standardized on 3.5mm.
