I have installed 4 applications, I'm not able to find 3 of them anywhere. I installed Whitestork, dsniff, tree, and maemo mapper.
When installing mapper it asked me where to create the application icon(or should I call them hildon )
Anyways Maemo mapper actually showed up in the menu I choose, but the other 3 applications I installed, never asked me where I want to see the icon, and they are nowhere to be found. I go to installed applications and they are there. I don't know much about XTERM but I was browsing thru some folders, I saw their names in there within all other applications...

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but they are still not in the menu.
I need to install couple more applications but since nothing shows up in the menus. I am just stuck

    I apriciate any help ...
    Thanks in advance.

These aplications are console aplications and have to be started in the console (xterm).
    they have no icons.

I don't know more, but i hope that helps.

Well, how do I start applications thru xterm?
I have been trying to launch them via xterm...
but I don't where to look exactly to launch them...
    I think I got into
/usr/share/applications and launched video player with exec command I believe. But for example I found whitestork thru xterm and tried to launch it it says unable to find or something like that, I tried these commands yesterday at 5.20am I didn't want to sleep without trying everything I know, that's why I may not type path or commands exactly the way I tried them...
I think I need to find the right path to launch these applications then?

Try again when you are awake and poSt the actual error. l'd Like to port locate which will helP with finding where the applications are ''located''. Does anyone reading thiS have locate ported?

This weekend I never got a chance to play with it again but, when I I'm in /usr/share/
I do exec whitestork, and xterm exits itself.

Why I do it ? I don't know I kept trying everything to have those applications to launch
I really don't know anything about xterm so I don't know what I'm doing there...

Whitestork, if installed properly, adds a menuitem to the Extras menu.

If I remember correctly unzip doesn't show up in app menu just open a zip file and it will unzip it for you. I might be wrong can anyone confirm that for me?

I think unzip does shows up in one of the menus, and you can't click a file in filemanager. But I'm not sure...

    I use Xarchiver, instead.
