What do you use to get not only dust, but also other dirt (ever used the full screen keyboard with your fingers while eating a burger? ) off the display? i am actually afraid of ruining the device by accidentally using the one method everybody else knows is wrong. (no, i didnt try the dishwasher so far...)

I use either a glasses cleaning cloth, or a screen cleaning cloth that was supplied with my phone (Nokia N70).

I use the cloth I got with my sun glasses. If it's really bad I use the cleaning fluid they gave me too.

If it's ice cream, I lick my screen.

OK, I turn the 770 off first...

Is that just in case you're looking at pictures of ice cream on the web and have become confused?

No, but just for future reference: trying to eat a large ice cream (you know: the huge ones you order from the ice cream car; the ones that don't really sound that huge while you're ordering them, until you get the Mount Everest of ice cream cones pushed in your puny hand) while at the same time checking out the BBC programming for the next week, is not necessarily a good idea.

Hey! don't judge me! I've just had major neck surgery; it's practically on doctor's orders.

Mind even the optical cloth, if you get a little hard bit of crud on it you can scratch the screen. Mine has two small vertical scratches from the clip of the hard case (apparently not as hard as one would believe) and the odd very very mild one from the afforementioned hard crud. I borrow the IT guy's compressed hair and blast the screen from a few inches away first. (Not enough to disrupt the display tho, like when you push too hard with the stylus)

What things compressed hair cannot do!

My hair, OTOH, is not so much compressed as distressed and relocated.
Hence the hat in the picture, obviously...

One of our IT guys had compressed hair. One day he made the mistake of running Stuffit Expander on it--the explosion could be heard for miles!

<<yes Hedgecore, this could go on forever>>
