seems my problem is related to wpa. i've got two access points at home, one runs wep the other wpa. when i connect to the wep one all is fine, the connection doesn't drop. when i connect to the wpa one, it drops after only a few minutes.
the wep ap is a linksys wrt54g
the wpa is a dlink
i'll try changing the dlink to wep to see if it's a wpa/wep issue or a linksys/dlink issue.
I'm using a wrt54g with wpa no problem here at home.
Ok, sometimes it doesn't see the network in the first scan (1 time out of 10), and sometimes it connects without an ip address (happened 2x out of who knows how many connections). But for about 90% of the time I have no problem. Given the nature of wireless, 90% is good in my book, especially with all the other access points around me.
