I have been using the 5.99 plan from t-mobile, but recently upgraded to the 29.99 plan. Now I might as well switch and get two phones with internet access for 30$

They both scare me, actually.
That's why I'm on T-mobile -- unlimited, above-board tethering with no worries about suspicious usage patterns or anything. I believe Verizon should be faster, right? OTOH, ATT is "standard" (i.e. GSM) equipment, so usable in Europe, etc. (Or just get your T-mo terminal unlocked (if it's not) and hang onto that...)
I've no actual experience with either, though.

I just figured people would be like yeah I use it all the time, no worries. Apparently, thats not the case?

It seems that only T-Mo allows tethering, all others see it as a violation of the TOS.
I'm just planning on switching from Verizon to T-Mo.
