Where'd you get it from? Last I knew, they weren't shipping yet from, well, anywhere.

And no, that's not the latest firmware. N800s (and I think N810s, as well) have had only one Diablo firmware released as a FIASCO image, and that's 4.2008.23-14; SSUs should take over from there.

You wouldn't by any chance know where I could get a newer firmware? I've tried both http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N820.php and Nokias windows update tool without any luck. Is there perhaps a repo I need to add to get the SSU going?
), but it's not defined, and not the right way.
YMMV, of course, and you'll be better off if you can get your friend to smuggle you any internal Nokia Diablo/RX-48 image, and SSU from there...

I'd try http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N810.php, but unless some of those images are labeled RX-48, that's not very good either, though you can always try a version for different hardware.

if only an external aerial was possible on the other models, then I could use a high gain antenna to look for open access points
